The journey to Cycle 10k for CSSEF – Twilight Runway Challenge

Today I want to celebrate You:

  • Each one of you who have believed in me enough to comment on my posts your support thank you, it means so much to me and that encouragement helps me so much more than you can imagine and I love you all for that.
  • Every one of you who have felt able to contribute financially no matter how small or large that donation has been, to me it was huge.  You have helped to raise (with gift aid contributions included) so far an incredible £115.60 towards the £500 I wish to raise for this amazing charity CSSEF.  This is incredible, thank you, I love you all for what you have offered up at this difficult time for many financially and I know CSSEF will appreciate every penny.
  • Those who have shared my posts, thank you, that is incredible, again that belief in me to do this and spread the word for me.  I love you for that.

My inspiration - 3 beautiful strong women

  • Karen Jackson who with her team run CSSEF to raise funds and awareness to help schools become more accessible for deaf children and supporting deaf children’s emotional wellbeing – this is only a small part of what they do, and everything Karen and her team do is so important.  Please do check out their website to find out more about the fabulous work Karen and her team do.  And not to forget the fabulous transcript typing Karen does in our BSL classes.  http://www.cssef.org.uk/
  • Jayne Fletcher-Brander BSL tutor and Signing Choir teacher.  What an inspiration, reading Jaynes’ website, her story of her battles with mental health and all she has achieved and how much more there is for her future.  Jayne supports so many in the work she does, tireless inclusive teaching, performing and work towards deaf awareness and integration of community.  Jaynes’ teaching style of including history of where signs came from and how they have changed over the years gives fabulous context and understanding, it helps to create that picture, which in turn helps me to understand and retain a new language.  https://www.fletchbsl.co.uk
  • Kerry Howell-Smith Communication Support Worker in our lessons, interpreting for us and when needed the explanations Kerry gives to help us understand better what we are learning from her own learning experience really enhances that learning.

These 3 inspiring women and those that I learn BSL with in class, make my learning BSL experience fun, entertaining and very supportive.  Thank you all.

Please if you feel able to share my posts, please do to raise awareness of the challenge I have set myself and help me reach my fundraising goal for this very worthy charity.

If you would like to know why more about this challenge and perhaps donate to this amazing charity if you feel able
