The journey to Cycle 10k for CSSEF – Twilight Runway Challenge Week 3 First cycle of the week today, cloudy, still day, I managed 4k. Was stopped by a Yorkshire Terrier who didn’t want to let me pass, so stopped for a chat with them, after all I rather like my tires without teeth marks in haha. I then took the opportunity to take a picture, the first picture you can see the old control tower faintly in the background, I’m not quite up to managing that far yet, so watch out for a closer picture in the future. The second is the old runway, and finally me back to my starting place. I will be

The journey to Cycle 10k for CSSEF – Twilight Runway Challenge Week 2 saw 2 cycles this week so far, I am aiming to cycle 3 times each week to build up to the 10k. This week I have cycled twice, it has been a tough week with fatigue hitting me. Fatigue is part of fibromyalgia which is a condition I have on top of the disability caused from the accident in 2004. Consequently, finding balance between resting and exercising is really important. Tuesday I managed to cycle 3.6k it was a lovely sunny day here. Today, saw a very windy day where I cycle, thankfully the rain held off for the time I was

The journey to Cycle 10k for CSSEF – Twilight Runway Challenge Day 2 of cycling 20/03/2021 I want to wish everyone the brightest of blessings on this not so sunny Spring Equinox weekend. As the light returns and the days lengthen, may your dreams, desires, and seeds planted for the coming year come to fruition. I didn’t quite make it out at sunrise as I was searching for tools sadly, though to be fair with the cloud cover, sunrise was not have been seen here on the farm, just a lessening of darkness on this particular Spring Equinox. Being disabled means listening to my body. Everyone should

The journey to Cycle 10k for CSSEF - Twilight Runway Challenge Today was a mixed blessing as I took my bike out of my horses feedstore and cleaned all the hay and cobwebs off it. Since my horse Troy died mid November I have struggled to go out into the paddock and stable where he lived right outside my door because it brings overwhelming grief of the loss of such an amazing companion of 21 years. Walking into what was his feed store with his tack, rugs, grooming kit etc is one of the toughest things to do right now. But this is the start of a new challenge for me, as a disabled person with

Birdsong

For me in the mornings I like to meditate whilst walking my dog, this is called a walking meditation. I love to do this because I get to walk in the most fabulous countryside, though you don't have to limit it to being alone in the country. Meditation is not just about stopping all thoughts in the mind, but can be about listening to in this instance nature.

Addiction

Addiction, Rehabilitation - Back in November I was asked to present a talk about helping people prepare and work through the rehabilitation process from an addiction. It had been a while since I did any teaching for more than an hour or so, and I was immersing myself in teaching for a few days, this was going to be an interesting time. So as always I returned to my books to refresh my memory, on the process of addiction and rehabilitation.
